If you carry any excess weight, you will have some understanding as to the detrimental effects it can have on your health. We are constantly being bombarded with information about the current obesity epidemic, and it's great to know that people are beginning to address the issue. But facts and figures are only one side of the the story. The Overweight and Obesity Organization is concerned with the individuals who want and need help with their lifestyle and health. It is an organization that brings together experiences of being overweight to create a pro-active group designed to help you make informed choices about your weight and the way you choose to live your life.
This is a free service open to anyone who wants, or can provide information about any aspect of being overweight or obese, from weight loss plans, to outsize clothing, to childhood issues, to general support issues. We offer advice on health and lifestyle and provide interactive tools to allow you to benefit from our expertise, creating personalized reports based on the information you provide.
We don't restrict the levels of interactivity for any of our members. Many members have been good enough to provide us with their stories so that other members can empathise, or take advice from what they have learned. Other members prefer to leave their advice, opinions or general question in our forum.
Any search on the internet will bring to light any number of scams designed to prey upon the overweight or obese. We offer all our services free, but request registration so that we may police the site regularly to protect our members. Anyone trying to promote unhealthy ways to lose weight, or causing offence in any way will be restricted from the site.
The Overweight and Obesity Organization was created by a gentleman by name of Jon LeBon who has experienced the effects of morbid obesity first hand. He grew from an overweight child, to an obese teenager and then to a morbidly obese adult. At the age of 21 he managed to conquer his obesity, but has never forgotten the stigmas that were attached to his size, and now helps other people who are now in the situation that he was once in.
